Rob Elston

Rob Elston is the Director of Security for The Youngstown Area Jewish Federation. Rob oversees daily safety of all facilities and staff and supervises numerous active Law Enforcement Officers to work proactively to ensure all agencies are safe. Rob has been in this position since February 2017. In this role, Elston administers a security program that provides services to a Jewish day-school, Early Learning Center, three Synagogues, Assisted Living Center, a Nursing Home, and Jewish Summer Camp. 

Rob is a U.S. Air Force veteran having served as a police officer and member of a hostage rescue team in South Korea before being assigned to the Republic of the Philippines. Rob worked in a small team environment with the Philippine Army before transitioning to civilian Police work where he has been an officer for the past 20 years. Robs background includes training in active shooter preparedness, vulnerability and risk assessments, response to terrorist bombings, and advanced tactical operations. Rob has experience in electronic security and video surveillance.
