Rafi Brinner

Rafi Brinner is the Bay Area Jewish Federation’s Senior Director of Community Security. The team he leads provides security training, guidance, and technical assistance to houses of worship, schools, community organizations, and other faith-based nonprofits in Northern California. After completing a Masters at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, Rafi embarked on a 23-year federal career in counterterrorism that took him to Washington DC, London, and back to California. In 2018, he joined the Federation to bring his expertise to the community level, helping to contain the threats of domestic terrorism and rising hate and antisemitism by sharing best practices developed over decades of working with government agencies, law enforcement, first responders, and corporate security partners.
