Adam Newman is the Chief of Staff at the Secure Community Network (SCN). In this role, he advises the National Director and CEO on strategic matters, leads cross-functional initiatives, and manages special projects.

Previously, Adam was Special Assistant for Government Affairs at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, where he drove operational improvements and advanced intergovernmental relations, policy execution, and strategic communications.

He also worked as Chief of Staff to Cook County Commissioner Larry Suffredin, where he contributed to legislative initiatives and constituent outreach. Earlier in his career, Adam supported members and candidates across Illinois as part of the Illinois House Democratic Caucus, guiding legislation, communications, and campaign strategy.

He began his public service at the White House Domestic Policy Council.

Adam earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame, graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He is pursuing his MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business as a Neubauer Civic Scholar. An Eagle Scout and active community leader, he has served on the Children’s Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County board. He continues to mentor youth through several Chicago-area nonprofits.
