JERUSALEM (JTA) — Three Israeli soldiers on foot patrol were wounded in a suspected car-ramming attack, the Israeli army said.
The soldiers were hit by a vehicle with Palestinian license plates on Saturday night outside the Palestinian village of Husan, near the West Bank settlement of Beitar Illit, the Israel Defense Forces said. The injured were treated at the scene and then taken to a Jerusalem hospital for treatment. The car sped off after the incident.
The driver, a 21-year-old from the Deheisheh refugee camp near Bethlehem, turned himself in hours later and told the Israeli authorities it had been an accident. The IDF reportedly had arrested the driver’s brother two days earlier.
