Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA)

SCN has long been a committed leader in adopting, modeling, and encouraging adherence to Jewish values, including advocating for approaches that address issues related to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA). This has included promoting approaches to security such as suspicious activity reporting, operations, and training, among others, that recognize the diversity both unique to the Jewish community and that of the broader community impacted by Jewish individuals, organizations, and institutions – including SCN.

SCN continually seeks to lead, innovate, and expand on best practices, including those related to safety and security and the intersection with DEIA efforts. SCN’s internal culture is of critical importance to this effort. SCN is committed to fostering an environment that can serve as a model for DEIA and related matters. This is accomplished through building a team with varied and diverse backgrounds, experiences, skills, and views; organizational and individual employee commitments to adhere to organizational standards; expanding our knowledge about the perspectives and unique experiences of all members of the community, to include traditionally marginalized groups; and to maintain a consistent focus on matters related to DEIA.

SCN’s responsibility is to keep the Jewish community safe and secure and ensure all members of the community – including, but not limited to, professionals, visitors, and guests – feel safe and secure, both through our efforts and in our workplace. This remains of the utmost importance to SCN.
